Latest poll predicts 62 seat Tory majority with SNP still on course to return 55 MPs

The latest poll predicts Boris Johnson's Tories will win a 62 seat majority in Westminster.

The revised forecast puts Labour with 201 MPs, the Lib Dems with 13 and the SNP with a thumping 55.

Early exit polls had suggested the Conservatives would take 368 seats, with Jeremy Corbyn's party 191.

The latest predictions come as polling stations a busy day across the country.

Lib Dem leader Jo Swinson's East Dunbartonshire constituency reported a phenomenal 80 per cent turnout, although she has been tipped to lose her seat to the the SNP's Amy Callaghan.

Elsewhere in Scotland it's been an great night for the Nats, with key gains in East Renfrewshire, Ochil and South Perthshire, Stirling and Angus.

Party leader Nicola Sturgeon said it's "a good night" for the SNP, but cautioned the anticipated Tory win indicates a "grim" outcome for the UK as a whole.
