Latest pictures: Liverpool players in distance training with Jurgen Klopp ahead of Premier League restart

Liverpool players were back in distance training with Jurgen Klopp on Monday ahead of a big week for Project Restart.

Club captains and managers are to be consulted on the proposals with representatives from both the PFA and LMA today ahead of Wednesday's vote on a return to full contract training.

As things stand, Premier League players are sticking to distance guidelines, which permits groups of no more than five and restricts each player to a maximum of 75 minutes of training.

The Reds sit clear at the top of the Premier League and know - if Project Restart gets the green light - two victories would seal a first League crown since 1990

Joe Gomez (below) said: “It’s important we get going and ready. We’re looked after by the sports science on the physical front.

“Tactically, we’ve been straight back into it as much as possible; obviously the gaffer, Pep, Pete and so on, it’s self-explanatory how good they are.

“So we’re already getting a sense of where we left off, getting familiar in different creative ways of our patterns of play and tactical formations that they’re doing their best to replicate in smaller groups.”

Meanwhile, a third round of coronavirus testing at Premier League clubs is going ahead with results due to be published on Wednesday.
