Latest on Nottingham Forest striker loanee's future as Reds boss discusses potential January business

January business

Head coach Sabri Lamouchi is confident just two or three January additions could make the difference in Nottingham Forest’s promotion push.

The Reds boss will look to supplement his squad when the window opens later this week, and bolstering his forward options will be a priority.

But a repeat of the summer recruitment, which saw 12 arrivals come through the doors, is unlikely, with Lamouchi not expecting to make a huge number of signings.

Tyler talk

Tyler Walker gave another glimpse of his potential after scoring a terrific lob to help Lincoln City beat League One promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town.

The on-loan Nottingham Forest striker bagged two more goals in Lincoln’s incredible 5-3 win at Sincil Bank on Sunday to take his tally for the season to 12, and boss Michael Appleton is hopeful of being able to keep him beyond January.

Appleton, though, believes any decision regarding Walker and his other loanees future will be his.

A number of teams, including Forest, are believed to have an eye on the Newcastle United forward ahead of next month’s transfer window.

Gayle has featured just eight times for the Premier League side so far this season and has yet to find the back of the net.

Striker's future

Brighton boss Graham Potter says he will let Nottingham Forest target Glenn Murray have the final say on his future.

The Reds are understood to have placed the 36-year-old on a shortlist of striker targets ahead of the January transfer window, according to The Athletic, as Sabri Lamouchi looks to bolster his firepower.

Murray has generally found himself on the bench for Albion this season, with 10 of his 14 appearances so far this term coming as a substitute.
