A man stabbed in Montpelier on Monday has been discharged from hospital.

The 35-year-old was attacked in an attempted robbery on Ashley Road at about 2am on October 21.

He then made his way to Dove Street, Kingsdown, where paramedics treated him before he was taken to hospital.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesman described his injuries as "not life-threatening or life-changing". He has been discharged from hospital.

Police are yet to make any arrests in connection with the attack, an investigation into which saw the steps linking Dove Street and Dove Street South taped off on Monday.

"The victim has given an initial statement describing his attacker as a man of mixed race appearance, about 5ft 6ins tall and stocky," a force spokesman said.

Anyone with information which could help the inquiry is asked to get in touch with police through www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact, or by calling 101, quoting reference 5219243289.

Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. They never ask your name or trace your call.
