Fresh paperwork has been submitted regarding the proposed redevelopment of Nottingham Forest’s City Ground stadium.
And it has prompted some degree of speculation.
A letter sent to Rushcliffe Borough Council from property consultants Savills, on behalf of the Championship club, states: “The proposals would increase the stadium capacity from the existing 30,000 up to 36,000 seats.” A listing of the existing and proposed capacities of each stand then follows.
And that particular line seems to have got some people questioning whether the Reds’ original plans to turn the City Ground into a 38,000 capacity stadium has been scaled back.
But NottinghamshireLive understands that is not the case.
The letter sent to Rushcliffe Borough Council relates only to the proposed redevelopment of the Peter Taylor Stand and the first phase of development.

It is understood Forest still plan to also house more fans in the Bridgford End to take the capacity of the ground to 38,000 overall, once the work is completed.
Work is due to get underway on the project next summer and will involve £100m of investment.
The project will see the Peter Taylor Stand rebuilt and will include new state of the art dressing rooms, a museum, club shop, executive boxes and media suites.
Improvements will also be made to the other three stands, with the Bridgford Stand extended as well.
