Latest NFL.com mock pegs a quarterback to Miami

The Dolphins have been spending a lot of time in recent days investigating quarterbacks. They’ve had private sessions with both Missouri’s Drew Lock and Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins.

Now, the Dolphins picking a quarterback in 2019 seems to be picking up some steam, thanks in part to NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein.

Zierlein’s latest mock draft released yesterday, and inside he had the Dolphins drafting Haskins at the 13th overall selection. Zierlein, who had previously mocked LSU cornerback Greedy Williams to the Dolphins, explained the pick:

We already know the king of the bridge quarterbacks is in place and waiting to start for the Dolphins (Ryan Fitzpatrick), but he would also be an excellent choice to help mentor the future at the position.”

For all the craze on if Miami will win too many games to draft a guy in 2020, finding their guy a year early would certainly change the dynamics of the rebuild.
