Latest Liverpool weather as Met Office predicts hottest day of the year tomorrow

Liverpool is finally going to bask in scorching temperatures tomorrow, July 31.

Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 29C in Liverpool, with the day likely to be the hottest of the year so far.

Though there was a welcome run of hot weather  in April and May, it has been significantly cooler and wetter since then with large amounts of rainfall.

Usually, July welcomes long hot sunny days but this month has seen temperatures drop below average for the summer.

But thankfully, the weather is looking up as  the Met Office  predicts  sunshine and high temperatures for Friday.

The Met Office reports most of the UK is now benefiting from a spell of very warm weather - but it's going to be brief.

Temperatures are expected to peak on Friday before quickly cooling down over the weekend.

In Liverpool, every hour of Friday can expect to see sunshine before the sun sets at 9.09pm.

But the scorching weather won't last all weekend.

Met Office chief meteorologist Andy Page said: "The bulk of England and Wales will have dry, very warm and sunny weather to end the week with Friday likely to be the hottest day of the year so far for the UK.

"A few thunderstorms are possible later on Friday and then a cold front moves eastwards by Saturday, bringing a downturn in temperatures once again."

Sunday will see further showers moving in from the west, interspersed with sunny spells.

Despite the high temperatures expected tomorrow, the city will not see a heatwave.

To be considered a heatwave, high temperatures need to persist for three days or more so this brief spell of hot will not reach the requirements.
