Latest Leeds United transfer rumours: Yan Couto loan back on, Mbaye Diagne swoop prepared

Leeds United have taken the first steps towards reigniting their Premier League promotion push with Championship clubs returning to training on Monday.

The Whites still have a number of issues that need to be solved ahead of the Championship's planned resumption of the 2019/20 season, with protocols needed for contact training sessions and matches behind closed doors.

Encouragement has been provided by the return of action in Germany's top-two divisions and Spain now looks set to follow suit, with Italy also planning their own return.

While football hasn't been played, transfer rumours have continued to circulate and we have gathered some of the latest snippets regarding Leeds below.

Couto loan back on

Leeds United are preparing to make a move to bring Yan Couto on loan to Elland Road next season from Manchester City, The Athletic states.

The Premier League side are set to sign the youngster from Brazilian side Coritiba in the coming months after agreeing terms with Pep Guardiola's side.

However, the 17-year-old right-back, who was linked with a move to Leeds in January, will have to wait for his opportunity with City and Marcelo Bielsa's side are said to be preparing to make a move.

His limited experience may be a concern but there will be hope that the teenager can learn a lot from Bielsa's guidance.

Diagne move 'in the coming days'

Leeds United are preparing to make 'concrete steps' towards signing Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne in the coming days, according to Turkish outlet Haberturk.

The 28-year-old has reportedly emerged as a target for a number of English clubs, with Watford and Nottingham Forest both attributed with an interest in his services.

However, it's now suggested that Leeds are looking to take a significant step in stealing a march on their rivals by making their approach in the next few days.

Diagne has spent the majority of the 2019/20 season on loan with Belgian outfit Club Brugge, registering four goals in six league appearances.

Leeds fight Rangers for Graham

Leeds United are set to compete with Scottish giants Rangers for the services of highly-rated Ross County striker James Graham, The Daily Record reports.

The 16-year-old forward has looked set for a move to join Steven Gerrard's side after the Ibrox side saw their bid accepted but are yet to agree personal terms.

Competition for the teenager who had trials with Liverpool and Manchester United last year is fierce, with Wolves and Leeds also in the running.

While Rangers are still in the driving seat after their approach was approved by Ross County, their deal now hinges on whether personal terms can be agreed.
