Latest Leeds United transfer rumours: Whites' summer transfer plans revealed, Goldson latest

Leeds United look set to get the chance to seal their long-awaited promotion to the Premier League this summer.

Despite the EFL’s ongoing discussions as to how the 2019/20 season will be concluded, it’s expected that the Championship will resume soon.

That means Leeds can continue their push for promotion to the top tier, where Marcelo Bielsa will look to strengthen his ranks with some new additions.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming out of Elland Road

£48m haul revealed

Football Insider reports that Leeds will be focusing on loans and cheap deals this summer, having already organised deals worth a combined £48million.

Bielsa is not expected to go big like Aston Villa or Fulham should his side make their long-awaited return to the Premier League next season.

The Argentine is thought to have great faith in his relatively small squad, although the club are reportedly committed to four summer captures.

£15m will be spent on the permanent signing of Helder Costa, while Jean-Kevin Augustin’s loan will be converted into an £18m permanent deal, with Leeds also set to activate options on Jack Harrison and Illan Meslier’s loans at a cost of nearly £15m each.

PSG offer new deal to target

Paris Saint-Germain have offered a fresh contract to young defender Thierno Balde amid reports Leeds are interested in securing the teenager’s services.

French outlet L’Equipe reports the Ligue 1 champions have offered a professional deal to the 17-year-old, who has also attracted interest from Southampton and Saint-Etienne.

Balde has caught the eye with his performances for PSG’s under-19s, having risen to the side after Tanguy Kouassi’s promotion to the first team squad.

Kouassi has also been linked with Kouassi previously, as well as fellow PSG youngster Adil Aouchiche, but the French side are pushing to secure their young talents to new deals.

Rangers facing Goldson ultimatum

Alan Hutton has suggested Rangers may have to “cash in” on Connor Goldson if the right offer comes in for the centre-back this summer.

Leeds are reported to be among the clubs in the hunt for the former Brighton man, along with West Ham United and promotion rivals West Bromwich Albion.

And, speaking to Football Insider, Hutton believes Rangers boss Steven Gerrard will find it difficult to hold onto the 27-year-old, who has had a £6million price tag set on him.

“He’s 27 now, he’s obviously getting to the peak, he’ll probably be looking to tie himself down for the next few years so hopefully it is Rangers because he has done excellently well,” Hutton said.

“However, I think if the price is right then maybe it’s one Rangers will look to cash in on.”
