Leeds United could soon be back in action, and they may have plenty on their plate on the transfer front as well.
The Championship looks to be edging nearer a return, with clubs set to find out more about the EFL’s plans this week.
Leeds will be looking to get the job done and secure their promotion to the Premier League, and if the rumours are anything to go by, there could be plenty of business to be done this summer as well.
Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from Elland Road…
City signing set for Leeds loan
Leeds could be in line to secure Michal Karbownik on loan should the Polish sensation sign for Manchester City.
The 19-year-old fullback has been linked with a £10million move to the Etihad Stadium, and the deal could work in Marcelo Bielsa’s favour.
Sport.pl suggest Pep Guardiola would trust Leeds to develop Karbownik during a short-term spell at Elland Road.
The move would see Karbownik take a similar path to Jack Harrison, who has impressed during his time away on loan from City.
Target’s Lewandowski comparison
Leeds and West Brom target Adolfo Gaich has been likened to Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.
The Championship’s top two clubs have been linked with a move for the San Lorenzo striker, and his coach with Argentina’s Under-23s isn’t surprised to see him attracting interest.
“For his desire to seek the goal, for the little he cares to fail and insist again, he reminds me of Martín Palermo,” Batista told Mundo Deportivo.
“I see in the physical, how he puts the body, how he holds the ball, there are some Robert Lewandowski things.”
Whelan on Wilson
Noel Whelan has backed Leeds to make it “third time lucky” and sign Liverpool winger Harry Wilson this summer.
The 23-year-old, currently on loan at Bournemouth, has been a target for Leeds for the previous two summers.
Speaking to Football Insider, Whelan said: “It could be third time lucky. He has gone to Bournemouth and Derby previously (instead of Leeds).
“He has a little taste of Premier League football so if he is available I think Leeds will be interested.”
