Leeds United will play their first Premier League match in 16 years on Saturday, as they travel to last season’s champions Liverpool.
It’s been a busy summer so far for Marcelo Bielsa and the club’s hierarchy, as they look to build a squad capable of competing in the top-flight.
The Whites have already signed seven players - some new and some being loan deals that have now turned permanent.
It looks like Bielsa is still searching for a few more players before the window shuts in a months’ time, and with that being said, here is the latest batch of transfer rumours on Leeds.
Leeds favourites to land Summerville
Leeds are winning the race to sign Feyenoord winger Crysencio Summerville, according to Dutch publication Voetbal International.
The report claims that Leeds are the “main candidate” to sign the 19-year-old winger, in a deal that is likely to cost around £1.3m.
The likes of Wolves and Rangers are also in the race for Summerville, but the Whites are now considered favourites to land his signature.
The 18-year-old is thought to be one of the most promising youngsters coming out of Holland, and this could prove to be a very clever investment from Leeds.
Whites release goalkeepers without formal acknowledgement
Leeds have released goalkeepers Will Huffer and Kamil Miazek without any form of formal acknowledgement, Leeds Live understands.
Huffer has been at Elland Road for his whole career, but has made just one senior appearance back in November 2018.
Miazek, however, has never played for the Whites’ first-team, and his release perhaps doesn’t come as too much of a surprise.
Bielsa has Kiko Casilla, Illan Meslier and Elia Caprile to choose from to play in goal next season for his side.
Celta Vigo in race for Rafinha
Leeds are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Rafinha, but they could face stern competition for the Brazilian.
Rafinha spent last season on loan at La Liga side Celta Vigo, and it appears the Spanish club would like to take their former loanee on a permanent basis.
However, with Barca’s current valuation of £14.3m for the Brazil international, Celta Vigo cannot afford him at this stage, Spanish publication Sport suggests.
The Whites are reportedly considering making a move for the 27-year-old, but both parties are some way off in their valuation for the player.
