Latest Leeds United transfer rumours: Sessegnon development, Costa rejection, signing close

Leeds United now have four days remaining to add the finishing touches to their squad.

Marcelo Bielsa and his side achieved promotion back to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years following an incredible Championship campaign last time out.

The Whites boss and the club’s board are certainly not settling for what they’ve got - they want to push even further - highlighted by some of the side’s impressive signings during this summer transfer window.

Here, with just days remaining of the summer window, we have rounded up the very latest transfer rumours concerning Leeds.

Leeds reject chance to sign Juventus star

Leeds have rejected the chance to sign Juventus winger Douglas Costa, after the 30-year-old was offered to the club.

That’s according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla (via Sport Witness), who claims that agents Jorge Mendes and Giovanni Branchini are desperate to see Costa in the Premier League.

However, Bielsa has based his time at Elland Road on developing young talent, and is not too keen on bringing in a player that’s over 30 - like the former Bayern Munich star.

Costa has also been offered to Manchester United and Wolves, according to the report.

Cuisance very close to Leeds move

Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Cuisance is close to completing a move to Leeds, according to Sky Sports.

The France U20 international is close to becoming the Whites’ eighth signing of the summer transfer window.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 21-year-old has already put pen-to-paper on a five-year contract at Elland Road, and has passed his medical.

As well as this, the journalist claims that Cuisance turned down an offer from an unnamed Premier League club to join Leeds instead.

Leeds linked with Spurs youngster

Leeds are among four clubs battling it out for Tottenham Hotspur youngster Ryan Sessegnon, according to The Herald Scotland.

The versatile winger joined Spurs from Fulham last summer, but has failed to secure a first-team spot under Mauricio Pochettino and then Jose Mourinho.

Any deal for the 20-year-old is likely to be a loan move, as Spurs aim to get the Englishman more first-team playing time.

Scottish champions Celtic are interested, and so are Southampton, Brighton & Hove Albion and the Whites.
