Marcelo Bielsa is still looking to strengthen his Leeds United squad as we reach the final stages of the summer transfer window.
Yesterday, the Whites announced that Diego Llorente would be moving to Elland Road - the club’s seventh signing of the summer window.
Bielsa’s side have been one of the busiest in the Premier League and there’s plenty of indications that their summer spending will continue as we edge closer to its closure.
Here is the latest round-up of transfer rumours involving Leeds.
Leeds priced out of Campana move
Leeds have ruled out a move to sign Levante midfielder Jose Campana, according to Spanish outlet Plaza Deportiva.
The Spanish club reportedly want €30million for their midfielder, but the Whites are not willing to match that asking price.
Bielsa is keen on bringing a central midfielder to the club after chasing Udinese star Rodrigo De Paul.
However, as the Spanish publication states, “for the moment”, Leeds will not make a move for the Levante star, and they are “already moving quickly” for alternative options to Campana.
Leeds miss out on Sunderland midfielder
Sunderland starlet Daniel Neil will not be moving to Leeds this summer, according to a report on Football Insider.
The 18-year-old has been a target for numerous Premier League clubs, including the Whites, according to the report.
However, Leeds have lost out in their attempts to persuade Neil to move to Elland Road.
The Yorkshire-based side have been doing all they can to improve their youth players this summer, and have spent a lot of money doing just that.
Whites interested in shock Barkley move
Leeds are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley this summer, according to Football Insider.
Bielsa is eyeing a move for the midfielder as an alternative to De Paul, with the Argentine’s deal looking more and more unlikely.
The 26-year-old spent the second half of the 2012/13 season on loan at Elland Road, back when he was an Everton player.
The Blues value Barkley at around £30m and are willing to sell him if that price is met by another club.
