Latest Leeds United transfer rumours: Rodrigo De Paul admission, defender move, £50m demand

Leeds United are still very much active in this summer’s transfer window, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side being linked with a host of players every day.

The Whites played their first Premier League game in 16 years on Saturday, as they narrowly lost 4-3 to last season’s champions Liverpool.

There were plenty of positives to take from the game for Leeds supporters, and their confidence in the current squad may have increased.

However, it looks as if the club’s board are still working on bringing some new players to Elland Road - and here are the very latest transfer rumours.

De Paul drops major transfer hint

Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul appears to have confirmed his wish to join Leeds this summer, via his Twitter page.

De Paul has been heavily linked with the Whites in recent weeks, and he has dropped the biggest hint yet.

In a conversation between two fans that had De Paul tagged in, one said that they had heard the player was interested in joining Leeds.

The 26-year-old then replied: “Yes” with a fingers crossed emoji, before deleting the tweet later on.

Leeds look at Lukaku deal

Leeds are eyeing a move for Lazio full-back Jordan Lukaku, according to a report in Il Messaggero.

Lukaku, the brother of former Manchester United striker Romelu, has been at Lazio since 2016 and has played nearly 100 games for the Italian side.

However, the report states that Leeds are interested in taking him away from the Serie A side, as are Brighton & Hove Albion.

Lukaku has played eight times for Belgium since making his international debut five years ago.

Whites will have to pay £50m for Brooks

If Leeds are to sign Bournemouth attacker David Brooks this summer, then they will have to pay £50m, according to The Sun.

Brooks has been linked with the Whites for a few weeks now, following the Cherries being relegated back to the Championship at the end of last season.

Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City are also keen on the Wales international, but either side will have to pay £50m if they were to prize him away from the south coast.

The 23-year-old has scored eight goals in 37 appearances for Bournemouth since joining the side in the summer of 2018.
