Latest Leeds United transfer rumours: Pablo Hernandez replacement eyed, £19m Augustin deal

Leeds United look to have one foot in the Premier League after taking another huge step towards promotion at the weekend.

The dramatic win over Swansea leaves the Whites potentially just one win away from ending their 16-year wait for a return to the top flight, but it looks to just be a matter of time now.

And, assuming all goes to plan, Marcelo Bielsa will look to strengthen his side ahead of their first season back in this summer’s transfer window.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from Elland Road.

Augustin development

Leeds United will have to pay €21m (£19m) to sign RB Leipzig striker Jean-Kevin Augustin should they secure promotion to the Premier League.

The Frenchman signed on loan in January with an obligation to buy but hasn't started for the Whites after several injury problems.

Despite opting against extending his loan to the end of the season, BILD report that Leeds have no option but to pay the agreed fee and sign him permanently.

They state that Leeds ‘will have to buy’ Augustin, with RB Leipzig eyeing up the money to boost their own transfer budget.

Leeds target Hernandez replacement

Leeds United want to sign Dinamo Zagreb attacker Amer Gojak, according to reports.

The Whites are not the only team said to be keen on the Bosnia and Herzegovina international though, with Croatian news outlet Sportske Novosti reporting that Everton, Atalanta and Fiorentina scouted him at the weekend.

According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira , who has featured in Gazzetta Dello Sport, Leeds are also in the race for Gojak.

Gojak is an attacking midfielder and the 23-year-old could provide a younger alternative to Pablo Hernandez.

Erras linked

Leed United are one of three clubs reportedly in the race to sign free agent Patrick Erras this summer after his departure from Bundesliga side Nurnberg.

Inside Futbol claim there is interest from Elland Road in the 25-year-old, alongside Queens Park Rangers and Werder Bremen.

The German midfielder helped Nurnberg stave off relegation to the third tier in Germany after helping his side to a promotion/relegation play-off victory over Ingolstadt, with the club said to still be hopeful of persuading the player to stay.

However, Bielsa is said to be keen on his signature and Leeds could make a move when promotion is confirmed.
