Latest Leeds United transfer rumours: Musah interest, Ambrosius battle, Henderson warning

The January transfer window is now just over a month away, and speculation is growing over who Leeds United might target and may sell.

The Whites were very active in the summer market, with a host of new signings coming through the door at Elland Road, but the mid-season window gives Victor Orta another chance to do his thing.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have had a mixed start to the 2020/21 season, and he could be tempted to try and find some bargains when the window opens. With that being said, here are a few of today’s transfer stories on Leeds circulating around Europe.

Conor McGilligan and Joe Donnohue talk about Leeds 0-0 Arsenal, the u23's and Everton on Saturday

Leeds target ex-Arsenal graduate

Leeds United are among a host of Premier League sides that hold an interest in Valencia youngster Yunus Musah, according to 90Min.

Musah was a product of Arsenal's academy before moving to the La Liga side in 2019, where he has flourished.

The 17-year-old's progression has been tracked by a host of English top-flight clubs including the Whites, as well as the Gunners, Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, Musah is in no rush to leave Spain, but is keeping an open mind in regards to his future, the report claims.

Celtic competition for Ambrosius

Celtic have joined Leeds in the race to sign Hamburg's young centre-back Stephan Ambrosius, according to BILD, per Inside Futbol.

The Whites have been linked with a move for the 21-year-old defender, but now the Scottish champions have also registered an interest. Ambrosius' deal at Hamburg expires at the end of the season, and either Celtic or Leeds would be able to agree a pre-contract with him in January.

However, the Bundesliga 2 club remain confident he will sign a new contract with the club beyond this season.

Leeds sent Henderson warning

Former Leeds goalkeeper Nigel Martyn has sent his old club a warning regarding their reported interest in Manchester United shot-stopper Dean Henderson.

Reports have emerged over recent days that the Whites are keen on bringing the England international to Elland Road on a loan deal in January, but Martyn has a warning for his former side.

He told the Boot Room: "It would be harsh on Meslier, but he’s only 20. He’s one for the future. I’d like a more senior goalkeeper, but there is no reason to change it. If they go after Henderson, it’s worrying for Casilla. "It means he is not turning to him, and if you’re trying to get Henderson on loan – it needs to be with a view to buying it. If Man United don’t want to sell, you’re upsetting your goalkeeping department.

"If they were in to buy him, and Man United were to let him go – I would be happier that route. To get him on loan it doesn’t send the best vibes to Meslier, it says to Kiko that you aren’t good enough."
