Latest Leeds United transfer rumours: Michael Cuisance twist, Ryan Kent and Daniel James latest

There is now less than one week of the European summer transfer window remaining, with Leeds United still very active in it.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been busy so far, but there are still a host of names they are reportedly chasing.

Despite bringing seven new players to Elland Road already, the Whites are still targeting one or two new faces in order to improve the squad.

Here are the latest Leeds transfer rumours from around Europe.

Leeds will go for Kent if James efforts fail

Leeds will look to sign Rangers winger Ryan Kent if they cannot complete a deal for Daniel James this summer, according to The Sun.

Both wingers have been heavily linked with a move to Elland Road this summer, but if this report is to be believed, then Manchester United winger James is the preferred option.

However, United will only allow the Wales wideman to leave - whether it’s on loan or a permanent deal - if they can sign long-term target Jadon Sancho.

So, it seems that the Whites will turn to Rangers star Kent if they cannot complete the signing of James, despite the Scottish club’s manager Steven Gerrard repeatedly insisting his attacker is not for sale.

Leeds-linked player likes tweet celebrating Whites’ win

Reported Leeds target Michael Cuisance has liked a tweet from Illan Meslier celebrating the Whites’ victory over Sheffield United on Sunday.

Meslier starred in a 1-0 victory over the Blades on Sunday afternoon, and the Bayern Munich midfielder has liked the tweet, sparking even more speculation over a move to Elland Road.

L’Equipe are reporting that Leeds are in “advanced talks” over a move for the Frenchman, who liked his compatriot’s tweet.

Meslier’s tweet was: “Very important win today and first clean sheet, so happy for the team.”

Newcastle also interested in Cuisance

However, Leeds are not the only team interested in a move for Cuisance, with Premier League rivals Newcastle United also reportedly keen.

French publication L’Equipe claims that the Magpies have shown an interest in the French midfielder, but it looks likely he will move to the Whites instead.

The 21-year-old has featured once for Bayern so far this season in the Bundesliga, coming on in the champions’ 8-0 thrashing of Schalke.

With “advanced talks” for Cuisance underway - if the report is to be believed - then the Bayern youngster looks set to choose Yorkshire over Tyneside.
