Latest Leeds United transfer rumours: Liverpool enter race for wonderkid, Foyth urged to move

Leeds United have taken the first steps towards reigniting their Premier League promotion push as they made their return to training on Monday morning.

The Whites still have a number of issues that need to be solved ahead of the Championship's planned resumption of the 2019/20 season, with protocols needed for contact training sessions and matches behind closed doors.

Encouragement has been provided by the return of action in Germany's top-two divisions and Spain now looks set to follow suit, with Italy also planning their own return.

While football hasn't been played, transfer rumours have continued to circulate and we have gathered some of the latest snippets regarding Leeds below.

Liverpool ready to ‘blow Leeds away’ in race for starlet

Liverpool are battling Leeds for Blackburn Rovers starlet Luke Brennan.

Brennan, 18, has been in fine form for Rovers this season, playing an influential role in their FA Youth Cup run that took the club to the semi-finals.

That has seen the winger attract interest from both Leeds and Brighton, with Liverpool now also joining the race.

And according to Football Insider, Leeds and Brighton are likely to be blown out of the water by the presence of the Reds, who will have significantly more pulling power as defending European champions.

Striker discusses English switch amid Leeds interest

Mbaye Diagne has been discussing a potential switch to England with former teammate and Aston Villa attacker Trezeguet.

Diagne, 28, is currently on loan at Club Brugge from Turkish giants Galatasaray but has been planning his next move amid talk of a move to England.

Both Nottingham Forest and Leeds have been credited with an interest in the striker, and according to the Guardian, the striker has been discussing the potential move with former Kasimpasa teammate Trezeguet.

"We talk regularly, and he keeps saying I would thrive in England,” Diagne is quoted as saying. “I’m big and strong, I can hold up the ball and lay it off, I’m good in the air, and I’m a finisher.

"All I know is that, whether at Galatasaray or somewhere else, I am eager to get back playing and scoring again.”

Leeds expected to sign Tottenham star

Leeds United are tipped to secure Tottenham’s Juan Foyth, according to reports.

Foyth, 22, has been deemed surplus to requirements at Spurs, as reported by the Express, and is now being tipped to join Leeds and link up with compatriot Marcelo Bielsa. Foyth moved to North London for a fee of £8million in 2017, and according to Kevin Phillips, a move to Elland Road would be a ‘no brainer’.

"I could definitely see that one happening,” he told Football Insider. “It is almost a no-brainer. If they could get that over the line, it would be a good deal because it would not cost a fortune.

"I like Foyth. He has shown that he can play in the Premier League; it doesn't faze him. If Ben White moves on, then you are at least replacing him with Premier League experience. He is a good player, but there are question marks over whether he is the same calibre as Ben White.

"A run of games would certainly benefit him. It has been a while since he has played regularly, but I like the qualities he possesses."
