Latest Leeds United transfer rumours: Juan Foyth tipped to join, Josh King interest

Leeds United’s push for the Premier League is back in sight with the Championship set to resume on June 20.

But while football has been suspended, Marcelo Bielsa and his backroom staff have kept busy behind the scenes with the summer transfer window set to open in the near future - although specific dates are yet to be confirmed.

Leeds' transfer business heavily depends on what division the club lies in and whether the push for a return to the Premier League is successful.

However, that hasn't stopped the transfer rumours from circling and we have gathered some of the latest below.

Adolfo Gaich available

Amid reports linking Leeds United with a potential move, San Lorenzo’s managing director has revealed that the club may sell striker Adolfo Gaich this summer as they look to make the most of his value by avoiding a loan deal.

“We don’t want to let him go on loan,” Diego Delledonne told FC Inter News via The Football League World. “Our idea is to sell the player in this market window.”

The 21-year-old scored five goals in 12 games this season and has attracted interest from across Europe, including Roma, PSG and Inter Milan. He has one international cap for Argentina.

Leeds and West Bromwich Albion are said to be interested should they secure promotion to the Premier League, though Gaich reportedly prefers a move to Serie A.

Foyth Spurs exit inevitable

Juan Foyth’s exit from Spurs is practically a fact, per reports. Argentine outlet El Dia via Tribal Football report that Foyth will leave the club in the summer with Leeds named as a potential landing spot thanks to Marcelo Bielsa.

Bielsa and Foyth are both Argentine and Mauricio Pochettino, the former Spurs manager who brought Foyth to the club originally, will have given his managerial friend the lowdown on the 22-year-old.

Foyth has slipped down the pecking order at Spurs since Jose Mourinho arrived, making just one Premier League start since the Portuguese’s arrival. He was substituted at half-time in that one start.

With Foyth’s camp considering offers, including from Barcelona, Leeds could be set to find their potential Ben White replacement.

Bournemouth star tipped for Leeds move

After Sky Sports reported that four of the Premier League’s top six are interested, Kevin Phillips has tipped Bournemouth striker Josh King to spurn their interest and sign with Leeds instead.

King has one year remaining on his contract and is likely to leave this summer. After Manchester United failed with a £20 million bid in January, however, Phillips believes that King should look elsewhere to further his career in favour of more playing time.

“Very exciting player but I am unsure whether he would be happy playing second-fiddle to Harry Kane,” he told Football Insider. “He may not play very often. King needs to go somewhere where he will play often – Leeds springs to mind.

“If he goes there he will be their number one striker and play every week. There is the lure of a club like Tottenham but ultimately, you do not want to be there knowing that if Kane stays fit you are very rarely going to start. That can affect your confidence.

“I would prefer to see him go somewhere where he plays regularly.”
