It’s set to be a massive summer for Leeds United, with the club tipped to achieve promotion to the Premier League, and the end of the season period will be significant for the Whites.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men are top of the Championship table and are six points clear of Brentford, who occupy third-place.
If Leeds were to be promoted, it could trigger Bielsa and the club’s hierarchy to spend big money to bolster their squad.
With that being said, here are the best Leeds-related transfer stories from today.
Hernandez replacement identified
Former Leeds defender Danny Mills believes Norwich City midfielder Emiliano Buendia would be the ideal replacement for Pablo Hernandez.
Hernandez, who is 35-years-old, is now entering the latter stages of his career, and Mills has tipped Leeds to sign Buendia from the Premier League’s bottom side, Norwich.
Mills said to Football Insider : “It looks like he would be brought in to succeed Hernandez. How long can Pablo go on for? If they get promoted, can he do it in the Premier League?
“Buendia would be looking to escape Norwich if they get relegated and he would be a very good replacement for Pablo, I think.”
Leeds target Celtic star
Leeds are interested in signing Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard if the club were to achieve promotion to the Premier League.
The Sunday Mirror are reporting that Bielsa is interested in the French forward, who scored 22 goals for Celtic in the SPL last season.
The Bhoys would want £30m for the 22-year-old, but Leeds could face competition for his signature.
Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Edouard, and could provide stern competition for the Whites.
Augustin obliged to sign
Jean-Kevin Augustin is obliged to join Leeds on a permanent basis after his loan spell was not extended, according to The Athletic.
The Frenchman only managed to play three times for the Whites since joining on loan from RB Leipzig in January.
However, according to the report, Augustin had an option for a permanent deal in his loan contract, something Leeds could still take up.
Despite Leeds being obliged to sign the Leipzig striker, the Athletic report that it’s unlikely he will play under Bielsa again.
