Leeds United have made waves in the transfer market this summer, with Rodrigo Moreno, Robin Koch, and Diego Llorente all arriving at Elland Road to help the Whites in their first season back in the Premier League for 16 years.
They might, however, have more business to conduct.
Leeds are believed to be pushing for the addition of a midfielder to their squad before the transfer window closes on October 5, while Rangers winger Ryan Kent and Manchester United’s Daniel James have also linked with a switch to Elland Road.
The final days of the transfer window are always unpredictable and so the book might not be closed on the club's incomings and outgoings for the summer. Here are three of today’s most noteworthy transfer stories concerning the Whites.
Leeds agree deal for Bayern Munich midfielder
Leeds have reportedly agreed an £18 million deal to sign Michael Cuisance from Bayern Munich, and the Whites will target Norwich City’s Todd Cantwell next.
According to talkSPORT, the German champions have given Leeds permission to speak to Cuisance, with the French midfielder keen on a move as he looks for more game time.
It’s also claimed Leeds United will pursue a deal for Cantwell with a £15 million bid being lined up.
Cantwell impressed for the Canaries in the Premier League last season, scoring six goals and registering two assists in 37 appearances.
Southampton goalkeeper put in shop window
Angus Gunn was put in the shop window amid speculation Leeds United are interested in signing the Southampton goalkeeper.
Ralph Hasenhuttl is keen to offload one of his three stoppers before the summer transfer window closes on October 5, and with Alex McCarthy starting every game this term and Fraser Forster on the bench, Gunn looks to be the odd one out.
He started a Premier League 2 match for Southampton against West Ham United’s Under-23s this week giving potential suitors a chance to take a closer look at the 24-year-old shot-stopper.
Stoke City are also believed to be interested in Gunn who made ten Premier League appearances for Southampton last term but has fallen out of favour at the St Mary’s Stadium under Hasenhuttl.
Leeds target former Spurs wonderkid
Leeds have targeted former Tottenham player Marcus Edwards as they attempt to add a winger to their squad before the transfer window closes.
According to Football Insider, Marcelo Bielsa has made clear his desire for a winger to be signed before Monday, leading the Elland Road club to make at least one bid for Kent and explore the option of signing James.
Edwards has also been shortlisted as a potential option. After being hailed as one for the future as a teenager at Spurs, the winger left North London last year amid questions over his attitude and professionalism.
Now 21, Edwards has revived his career with Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal, scoring nine goals and registering nine assists in 36 league appearances last season.
