Latest Leeds United transfer rumours: Billy Sharp latest, Turkish midfielder linked

It's been a busy week in the life of Leeds United.

Monday's FA Cup defeat to Arsenal drew plenty of plaudits for the Whites, despite the 1-0 reverse scoreline.

Off the field, the January transfer window is open and the rumours mill is in full swing.

A striker is the main priority for Marcelo Bielsa and Victor Orta this month, following the recall of Eddie Nketiah to Arsenal.

Che Adams, Billy Sharp and a host of other players have been linked with temporary moves to Elland Road.

Here, we round-up the day's latest Leeds United transfer rumours.

Leeds close to Caprile deal

Leeds United are moving closer to announcing the signing of Chievo Verona goalkeeper Elia Caprile.

The Whites have been linked with the 18-year-old throughout the January transfer window and, according to  Tuttomercatoweb.com , are close to completing the deal.

Kiko Casilla remains Bielsa's number one goalkeeper, however, with Illan Meslier only on loan until the end of the season, this move could provide more long-term competition for the Spaniard.

The report claims Caprile will sign a four-and-a-half-year deal at Elland Road.

Swansea City and Brentford have both been linked with moves for Celta Vigo midfielder Emre Mor.

The Turkish international is currently on loan at Galatasaray from the La Liga club and has also been touted as a potential target for Leeds United this week.

However,  Turkish newspaper Karar , claim Mor is in talks with Championship rivals Brentford and Swansea over a potential move until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old has struggled for first-team football this season and is keen to cut his deal with Galatasaray short, as a result.

Sunderland join Sharp chase

Sunderland have made an ambitous enquiry about taking Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp on loan.

The former Whites' forward has been linked with a return to Elland Road this month to provide compeition for Patrick Bamford.

However, a host of other Championship clubs, like Nottingham Forest, are also in the hunt for his signature.

Sky Sports  report that Sunderland are also in that queue, although with a host of Championship offers for the 33-year-old, a move to the Stadium of Light seems unlikely.
