Latest Leeds United transfer rumours: Ben White ’close’ to new deal, Robbie Gotts exit

There is now less than two weeks to go until Leeds United will be sampling the taste of Premier League football once again, as they gear up for their opening day trip to Anfield to face Liverpool.

The Whites could not have wished for a sterner opening day assignment than locking horns with the reining Premier League champions, but Marcelo Bielsa, the club's head coach, will be hoping his new additions will be able to play some part in aiming to help his side record an unlikely result.

Over the weekend, Leeds secured the signings of SC Freiburg defender Robin Koch and Valencia striker Rodrigo, bolstering both Bielsa's defence and attack.

Though Leeds have been busy this summer already, landing nine new signings, more are expected.

Premier League new season in numbers

White ’close’ to new deal

Sky Sports are reporting Ben White is “close” to agreeing a new deal at Brighton.

The 22-year-old centre-back is now back at the Amex after spending last season on loan at Leeds United.

The Elland Road club made three attempts to sign him this summer - but had £18.5million, £22million and £25million bids rejected for the Poole-born youngster.

His agent teased Albion fans with a “watch this space” statement on Sky Sports News last week, and it now appears that White is close to agreeing fresh terms in Sussex.

Gotts’ latest

Leeds United could be waiting to bring in more players before sanctioning Robbie Gotts’ loan move to Huddersfield Town.

That is according to journalist Alan Nixon, who has taken to Twitter to issue an update on Gotts’ future.

He wrote: “Leeds said he could go. Then stopped it. Possibly due to waiting on signings. It’s been a lot more complicated than [it] seemed it would be.”

Gallagher blow

Leeds United and West Brom target Conor Gallagher is on the verge of a season-long loan move to Crystal Palace.

Both the Whites and West Brom have been looking to sign the midfielder as they prepare for their returns to the Premier League.

But now the 20-year-old appears to have sorted his future for the 2020/21 campaign, according to a report from football.london.
