Latest Leeds United transfer rumours: Battle for €13m Galatasaray striker, Harrison deal delayed

Leeds United have not played a competitive match since the 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town on March 7.

The season was stopped just days later due to the coronavirus pandemic and the campaign’s resumption still faces uncertainty.

However, despite the financial crisis that has gone hand-in-hand with the COVID-19 outbreak, the Whites are still looking at how they can improve their squad for next season – with promotion to the Premier League still very much on the club's radar.

With that in mind, here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours from today.

Leeds join race for €13m forward

Leeds have joined Championship rivals Nottingham Forest in the race to sign Galatasaray forward Mbaye Diagne, according to Takvim, via Sport Witness.

Diagne’s form in the Turkish top-flight has attracted the likes of Watford, as well as Forest and now seemingly Leeds.

The Turkish news outlet reports the Whites are looking to strengthen their squad if they were to be promoted back to the Premier League, and Diagne has been identified as a potential reinforcement.

However, Leeds are yet to send an offer to Galatasaray for the Senegalese forward, according to the report, and are waiting to see how badly impacted they will be by the coronavirus pandemic.

Harrison deal set to be delayed

Leeds were hoping to complete the permanent signing of on-loan star Jack Harrison soon, but Football Insider are reporting that the Whites may be made to wait until the end of August.

The 23-year-old has spent the past two seasons on loan at Leeds and Marcelo Bielsa is believed to be keen to make his deal a permanent one.

However, Football Insider say the Football Association will not allow the transfer window to open until the season is officially over – which could stretch until the end of August.

Harrison has been an ever-present figure in Bielsa’s side this season, scoring five goals and claiming seven assists in 37 appearances in the Championship.

Leeds held an interest in Ipswich starlet

Leeds were among a host of clubs interested in signing Ipswich Town’s Armando Dobra, according to the East Anglian Daily Times.

However, Dobra has recently signed a new long-term contract at Portman Road to fend off any interest from other clubs.

Dobra was the centre of two bids from Brighton & Hove Albion in January, whilst Southampton and Leeds were also keen on the young Albanian.

The 19-year-old has made his breakthrough into Ipswich’s first-team this season and has played three times in League One for the Tractor Boys.
