Latest Leeds United transfer rumours: Barry Douglas future, fresh striker linked

Leeds United stopped the rot with an important result against Brentford on Tuesday, bringing an end to a concerning run of defeats with a 1-1 draw at Griffin Park.

That gives the Whites a solid platform to build upon heading into a more favourable run of fixtures but the slips in recent weeks have allowed their promotion rivals to close the gap.

Now, the pressure is mounting and Leeds need to be prepared for a huge scrap heading into the final months of the current season - but that can't be their full focus.

In modern football, work in the transfer market is always going on and, as a result, there's plenty of rumours floating around regarding potential deals at Elland Road.

Barry Douglas exit

Leeds United are set to listen to offers for Barry Douglas at the end of the season regardless of whether promotion to the Premier League is secured, Football Insider reports.

The 30-year-old Scotland international returned to the squad for the 1-1 draw with Brentford, following a four-match absence, but was an unused substitute.

Now, it's reported his future is up in the air after failing to hit the heights at Elland Road that he did previously with Wolves, where he was a big player in the club's promotion charge.

Douglas will have 12 months remaining on his contract at the end of the campaign and Leeds could therefore look to cash in, while Douglas will seek more regular playing opportunities.

Cyle Larin interest

Leeds United are keen on signing Canadian striker Cyle Larin from Besiktas in the summer transfer window following his impressive performances on loan with Zulte Waregem, Fotospor reports.

The 24-year-old rose to fame in the MLS with Orlando City, where he scored 44 goals in 89 appearances, which led to a transfer to Besiktas after Cenk Tosun's sale to Everton.

Capped 31 times by Canada, Larin continued to catch the eye in Tuyrkey, scoring eight goals in 26 appearances, but was loaned to Belgian side Waregem at the start of the season.

Scoring nine goals and contributing nine assists, Leeds are said to be keen on a move for a striker who is valued by Besiktas at an affordable price of £3.4m.

Brighton fight for striker

Premier League outfit Brighton have joined Leeds United in the hunt for Birmingham City's rising star Adan George, according to reports from Football Insider.

The 17-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and has caught the attention of Brighton, who have scouted the teenager recently and were in attendance for an under-18s' match last week.

However, he is also said to be a target for Leeds and he appeals as a potential transfer because of the fact he will be able for a minimal compensation fee this summer.

Birmingham have high hopes for the forward though and will be keen to secure him to a new contract before his services become available this summer.
