England has announced an air bridge with Italy, allowing people to travel to the popular holiday destination without the need to quarantine upon their return.
Many will take advantage of this restriction being lifted, and jet off to Italy for a holiday this summer.
As of 3 June it has been possible to travel within Italy without self-certification.
Visitors in Italy should maintain at least one metre distance between themselves and others in both open and closed spaces.
The Italian government has advised people entering the country to regularly wash their hands, avoid direct contact with others and avoid touching their eyes and mouth.
Visitors will also be required to adhere to Italian health and safety regulations while abroad to minimise the risk of coronavirus infection.
Do I have to wear a mask?
Wearing a mask is mandatory in closed spaces such as restaurants (except when seated), shops and on public transport.
In some regions, such as Lombardy, wearing a mask is compulsory whenever you’re out of the house.
Those under the age of six or with a disability that means they cannot wear a mask for a long period of time are exempt from wearing a mask.
Can I go to the beach?
Beaches are open to visitors, but people must stick to social distancing rules.
Many beaches have designated spaces to keep beachgoers safe, such as keeping sun loungers 10m apart.
There has also been an improved sun lounger disinfectant process to limit the risk of contact.
It is advised that visitors avoid crowded places.
Are restaurants and bars open?
Many restaurants and bars require pre-booking to enter, as do some museums and beauty centres.
Cinemas, theatres and concerts all reopened on 15 June with social distancing measures in place.
Can I use public transport?
It is advised that when using public transport travellers buy their ticket online whenever possible.
When travelling people must maintain the one metre security distance from others, and wear a mask.
People should only sit in the spaces allowed and indicated by appropriate signs.
