Latest hospital figures: Less than five people in Lanarkshire are in intensive care with coronavirus

The Scottish Government today said that 1853 people have now tested positive for coronavirus in Lanarkshire.

It comes as 2134  patients across Scotland who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have died.

The figures show less than five people in Lanarkshire were in intensive care at midnight, with confirmed or suspected coronavirus.

And 103 people were in hospital across the county at midnight (confirmed).

The Scottish test numbers for May 19 show a total of 90,421 in Scotland have been tested through NHS labs to date.

Of these:

■ 75,766 tests were confirmed negative

■ 14,655 tests were positive

■ 2,134 patients who tested positive have died

■ 59 patients with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 were in intensive care last night, with 47 of those having tested positive

■ There were 969 people in Scottish hospitals with confirmed COVID-19 (including those in intensive care), and a further 478 where it was suspected
