Latest figures show no new cases of coronavirus in Nottingham city

Over the past 24 hours there have been no new confirmed coronavirus cases in the city of Nottingham, Public Health England confirms.

As of 5pm on Wednesday, June 3 the number of lab-confirmed cases within the city remained at 613, meaning there was no increase at all from the day before.

In Nottinghamshire, the number of cases increased from 1,417 to 1,421 - a rise of just four cases.

There are now a total of 2,034 cases across the city and county.

Data shows that four areas in the county experienced a rise of one case over the past 24 hours.

Ashfield still retains the highest number of cases although the rate of infection is higher in Broxtowe.

Figures broken down by district or borough are as follows:

Gedling - 221 (increase of one) / infection rate 187.6

Rushcliffe - 193 / infection rate 164.0

Mansfield - 134 / infection rate 123.1

Ashfield - 241 / infection rate 189.5 - no change

Newark and Sherwood - 164 (increase of one) / infection rate 134.9

Bassetlaw - 230 ( increase of one ) / infection rate 196.9

Broxtowe - 238 (increase of one) / infection rate 210.1

The data also only shows that of lab-confirmed cases of those who have been tested.

There have been 279,856 confirmed cases to date.

A total of 39,728 people have now died across the UK - an increase of 359 from yesterday.

In the latest figures from Office for National Statistics (ONS) released yesterday (June 2), between the start of the outbreak and May 22, there have been 774 deaths across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire involving Covid-19.

Of those deaths, 452 took place in hospital, while 291 were in care homes.

There were also 24 deaths recorded at home, three in hospices, three in other communal establishments, and one elsewhere, in the week between May 16 and May 22.
