Latest daily Nottinghamshire coronavirus case figures confirmed

There has been more Coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours with 40 new confirmed positive results across Nottinghamshire, according to the latest Government data.

A total of 17 new cases were reported in Nottingham city, bringing the total to 1,625.

In wider Nottinghamshire, cases increased by 23 bringing the total to 3,921.

Outside of the city, Ashfield has reported the most confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic - with the figures for the district now nearing 700.

But Broxtowe was the most affected area in the past 24 hours, recording six new cases - although all areas reported a small increase.

The latest number of cases is correct as of 4pm on Saturday, September 19.

The UK-wide death toll now stands at 41,759.

There were 27 recorded deaths of people who had tested positive for Covid-19 within the last 28 days across the country.

At Nottingham University Hospitals - Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital - 275 people have died since the start of the pandemic.

This includes two deaths recorded on September 12 and one death on September 9.

At Sherwood Forest Hospitals - responsible for Kings Mill Hospital and Mansfield Community Hospital - there has been 125 deaths.

A further 13 people have died within Nottinghamshire Healthcare and a single person has died at Ramsay Health UK.

This is the latest current breakdown of confirmed infections for each part of Nottinghamshire region:

  • Ashfield - 697 ( increase of three )
  • Bassetlaw  - 694 ( increase of one )
  • Broxtowe - 580 ( increase of six )
  • Gedling - 464 ( increase of two )
  • Mansfield  - 458 ( increase of three )
  • Newark and Sherwood - 512 (  increase of four )
  • Rushcliffe - 516 ( increase of four )

It comes as a new testing site opened in Nottingham at the Forest park and ride today, which will be in place until September 23.

The new site allows those who are exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19 to take a test from the safety of their cars.

It comes as cases are increasing across the UK and one local council has issued a warning to residents about community transmission.

The chief executive for Mansfield District Council, Hayley Barsby, released a statement after a Covid strategy meeting reminding people of the importance of following guidance.

She said: "We all have to take the threat this poses to our community seriously. This is real."

In the UK, there were a further 4,422 cases confirmed, bringing the total to 390,358.
