The COVID rate infection has dropped below 100 once again in Perth and Kinross.

But the seven-day positivity rate has now reached five per cent.

According to the latest statistics from Public Health Scotland, the seven-day infection rate up until November 26 was 98.1 per 100,000 people in the region.

That is compared with nearly 112 the week before.

Similarly, the number of cases dropped from 170 for the week up to November 19, to 149 in the seven days up until November 26.

However, there is some cause for concern as the percentage of positive tests continues to creep up.

The region will find out tomorrow whether it will remain in level three of coronavirus restrictions for a third week when Nicola Sturgeon gives her weekly update.

It seems unlikely the region will move to tier two but if the downward trend continues, it should ease any concerns about a possible move to the highest level.
