A further 3,080 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Scotland in the last 24 hours – with the disease claiming another nine lives.
Latest data shows there are 708 Covid patients in Scottish hospitals which is down 35 from yesterday. There are currently 66 people with the disease being treated in ICUs, down five over the same period.
Meanwhile, there are 65 Covid patients in Ayrshire hospitals while five people are being treated for the illness in the region's intensive care units.
The new fatalities mean Scotland's death toll now stands at 9,504
However, 12,028 deaths have been registered in Scotland where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to Sunday, November 21.
In terms of Public Health Scotland's rolling seven-day infection rate per 100,000 population, Falkirk has the highest rate in the country – at 546.8 as of Tuesday, November 23.
Moray has the second-highest infection rate at 534.8 while Dumfries and Galloway is third with 514.5.
In terms of Ayrshire's three local authorities, East Ayrshire has the highest rate of 354.4, South Ayrshire's rate stands at 346 while North Ayrshire's is 283.1.
Of the 168 new cases reported in Ayrshire, 64 were in East Ayrshire with 54 in North Ayrshire and 49 in South Ayrshire.

A total of 4,341,224 people have received one dose of a Covid vaccine; 3,941,715 are double jabbed and 1,502,266 people have received a third dose/booster.
