Latest coronavirus figures for Northern Ireland broken down by council area and age

Coronavirus-related deaths in Northern Ireland have risen again today, bringing the overall number of fatalities to 489.

The latest report from the Department of Health confirms four people passed away here in the past 24 hours while a further three people also died from the virus recently but their deaths have only just been reported.

Four of the people who died were aged 80 and over, two were aged 60-79 and one person was between 40 and 59.

The latest fatalities were reported in Belfast (4), Lisburn and Castlereagh (1) and Mid and East Antrim (2).

At present there are 660 inpatients in 19 hospitals across Northern Ireland - an increase of nine since yesterday.

16 patients remain in ICU beds here with confirmed or suspected Covid-19.

A further 20 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, with 662 tests carried out on patients.

The latest positive cases were recorded in: Ards and North Down (2), Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon (1), Belfast (3), Lisburn and Castlereagh (4), Mid and East Antrim (2), Mid Ulster (3), Newry, Mourne and Down (2) and three were reported as Not Known.

An additional 541 samples have also been taken from National Testing Centres across NI.

To date, Northern Ireland has recorded 4,421 positive cases of Covid-19.
