Latest coronavirus figures for Northern Ireland broken down by council area

Today Northern Ireland recorded no new deaths since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic here.

The welcome news was announced earlier today by the Department of Health and the overall death toll here remains at 514.

With regards to new cases in Northern Ireland, 28 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours which is a reduction of 10 cases since yesterday.

The latest 28 cases were recorded in: Antrim and Newtownabbey (2), Ards and North Down (1), Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon (7), Belfast (4), Causeway Coast and Glens (3), Mid and East Antrim (5), Mid Ulster (3), Newry, Mourne and Down (2) and one was recorded as Not Known.

An additional 437 samples were also taken from National Testing Centres across the country including SSE Arena.

Health Minister Robin Swann also announced on Tuesday that testing would be expanded and a new site in Enniskillen would also be operational this week.

At present there are nine people in ICU in Northern Ireland with confirmed or suspected Covid-19.

108 patients remain in hospitals here with confirmed Covid-19, while a further 436 inpatients are being treated for suspected coronavirus.

To date Northern Ireland has reported 4,637 cases of coronavirus.
