Latest coronavirus cases as numbers rise in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire

There has been another rise in the number of positive coronavirus tests across Nottinghamshire.

The latest figures released by Public Health England (PHE) revealed on Monday, April 6, cases of coronavirus in both the city and county have increased.

In 24 hours, there has been a further 13 cases confirmed in Nottingham, bringing the total to 204.

In Nottinghamshire, there has now been 425 people who have tested positive for coronavirus, up from 413 - an increase of 12.

The current death toll stands at 39 for patients who have died in Nottingham hospitals and 27 for those that have died in the county.

PHE revealed the number of people who have died after testing positive for Covid-19 has risen to 5,373 in the UK - up by 439 in 24 hours.

There have been 51,608 cases of coronavirus confirmed in the UK.

The figures come as politicians from across the political spectrum wished Prime Minister Boris Johnson well after the Prime Minister spent the night in hospital for tests.

The move is as a “precautionary measure” on the advice of his doctor, according to Number 10, because his coronavirus symptoms have persisted.
