Latest coronavirus case figures for Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire

Bristol now has 13 confirmed cases of coronavirus, according to the latest figures published by Public Health England (PHE).

The number of cases in South Gloucestershire has also risen to 13. There were 12 cases in both areas as of yesterday (March 19).

The increase follows the news one of the 39 people who were have confirmed to have died after testing positive for coronavirus during the past 24 hours was a patient at the Royal Gloucester NHS Foundation Trust.

Meanwhile North Somerset still has four cases of coronavirus while Bath and North East Somerset has five.

The figures also reveal that a total of 177 patients across the country have now died after testing positive for coronavirus while the number of confirmed cases has risen to 3,983.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said today (March 20) that all pubs, restaurants and other public spaces will close from tomorrow to help prevent the further spread of coronavirus.

The government also announced that it will help people pay their wages in an "unprecedented" move to address the financial impact of the coronavirus crisis.

Huge DWP changes to Universal Credit and tax credits were also revealed during today's daily coronavirus conference.
