Latest confirmed coronavirus cases in Bristol on Friday, May 1

There have now been more than 600 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bristol.

That figures has raised by 15 cases in two days, from 593 confirmed cases on Wednesday to 608 on Friday.

Across the UK, 27,510 coronavirus patients have died in hospitals, care homes and the wider community as health officials said this week Britain has now reached the peak of its epidemic.

Latest figures published today revealed there have been nearly 40 deaths in care homes in Bristol linked to Covid-19.

The data shows 65 deaths have been notified to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) by care homes in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire between April 10 and April 24.

In the south west area, there have now been 344 confirmed cases of coronavirus in South Gloucestershire and 234 in North Somerset.

Bath and North East Somerset has had 211 positive tests for covid-19.

Across the UK, as of 9am on May 1, there have been 177,454 coronavirus positive tests.

As of 5pm on 30 April, of those who tested positive for coronavirus in the UK, 27,510 have died.

This new figure includes deaths in all settings, not just in hospitals. The equivalent figure under the old measure would have been 23,229.
