Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Timo Werner boost, Dortmund's Jadon Sancho offer

Timo Werner transfer boost

Chelsea have been handed a boost in their pursuit of RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner as the Bundesliga side are closing in on a deal for a potential replacement.

The Blues, along with Liverpool, are heavily linked with a move for the Germany international to bolster their attacking lines when the summer transfer window opens.

Now, Germany outlet Weser Kurier states that Leipzig are on the brink of announcing a £33m deal bringing Milot Rashica to the club from Werder Bremen.

That could be the deal that helps to push Werner towards a transfer of his own, although Chelsea could face competition in the market from other clubs including Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

Barcelona set for fire sale

Chelsea could take advantage of Barcelona's fire sale this summer as the Spanish giants are due to undergo a significant reshuffle in their squad.

According to ESPN, only Lionel Messi, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and Frenkie De Jong are assured of their position in Catalonia beyond the end of the season.

That could lead to a wealth of departures from the Nou Camp, including Philippe Coutinho - who has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League to join Chelsea.

Other players that could be on the mood and of interest to the Blues including Ivan Rakitic, Samuel Umtiti, Jean-Clair Todibo and Ousmane Dembele.

Dortmund prepare fresh Sancho contract offer

Borussia Dortmund are preparing to secure the services of England international Jadon Sancho by offering him a new contract with the Bundesliga side, Bild reports.

The 20-year-old has courted the attention of a number of Premier League clubs, having been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United.

It would likely require a fee in excess of £100m to prize Sancho away from Dortmund's clutches but they are making a significant push to retain his services.

According to the reports, Sancho will be offered a significant increase to his salary to take his wages to €10m per season.
