Chelsea were one of the busiest teams in the Premier League over the summer transfer window, with Frank Lampard being fully backed by Roman Abramovich.
The Blues spent over £200m on a host of new talent from all over Europe in a new era for the club's supporters.
So far the signings have been a success at Stamford Bridge, but the West London-based side may have to sell some players when the January window opens in order to balance the books.
With that said, here are the latest Chelsea-related transfer stories from around Europe.
Hasselbaink tips Blues to sign new defenders
Ex-Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has tipped his old club to sign new two central defenders to help them win the Premier League.
The Blues' defence has drastically improved over recent weeks, but in order to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City this season, Hasselbaink has named two new centre-backs Lampard could target.
Speaking to Ladbrokes, he said: "A lot of people are talking about Kalidou Koulibaly but he’s 29 years old and would be very expensive. ‘I actually quite like the Leicester defender, Caglar Soyuncu. I think he’d be very good at Chelsea.
"Also the defender at Inter Milan, Milan Skriniar – everybody is talking about him, another very good player. ‘So there are players out there, but it’s such a difficult position to fill at the moment."
German clubs target Blues starlet
Borussia Dortmund and Stuttgart are interested in signing Chelsea youngster Emran Soglo, according to Fussball Transfers.
Soglo is a target for both Bundesliga sides, with the Blues working on a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge, and have been in touch with the player's family to try and convince them to stay with the London-based side.
However, the teenager's family believe his time at Chelsea hasn't been handled in the best possible manner, the report claims.
As well as the German sides interested in Soglo, some unnamed English teams have been monitoring his situation at the Blues.
Inter identify Kante as Xhaka alternative
Inter Milan are eyeing Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante as an alternative to Arsenal 's Granit Xhaka, according to Calciomercato.
Antonio Conte 's side wanted to sign Xhaka on loan, but the Swiss international has no intention of leaving the Gunners on a temporary deal, meaning the deal is now seen as unlikely.
Another name on Conte's shortlist is his former midfielder Kante, who has three years remaining of his contract at Stamford Bridge.
The France international has played every Premier League game this season for Lampard's side.
