Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Ross Barkley offered in Declan Rice bid, Mendy deal agreed

Chelsea's summer spending spree has dominated the headlines but they are not done yet.

The Blues are on the verge of landing goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, and there may even be another arrival with Frank Lampard still keen on West Ham star Declan Rice.

Meanwhile, we are still expecting to see some departures from Stamford Bridge before the end of the summer window in October.

Below we run you through all the latest rumours on the transfer front as Chelsea prepare to kick off their new season.

Mendy deal reached

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Rennes for goalkeeper Edouard Mendy with the 28-year-old set to sign a long-term deal in the next few days.

The Senegal international, who had already agreed personal terms after asking to leave the Ligue 1 side upon learning of Chelsea’s interest, will become Frank Lampard’s eighth signing of the summer.

Chelsea had an initial bid of about £18million rejected with Rennes asking for closer to £30million.

But a compromise has been found and Mendy will travel to London over the weekend for a medical.

Kante going nowhere

Chelsea have been tipped to cash in on midfield star N'Golo Kante.

But according to the Daily Mail, the Blues have rejected any and all offers for Kante, unwilling to sell the Frenchman this summer.

The report claims they are, however, keen to offload Jorginho, who has also been linked with an exit.

Chelsea continue to be linked with West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, whose arrival would see Jorginho fall further down the pecking order.

Barkley to be offered for Rice

While we are on the topic of Rice, Chelsea have been tipped to make a player-plus-cash deal for the Hammers star.

According to Football Insider, the Blues are considering offering Ross Barkley as well as a large sum of cash.

Barkley could see his play-time further reduced following the arrivals of Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech.

And Chelsea's solution could be to offer him to West Ham as a way of landing target Rice without spending even more cash following this summer's spending spree.
