Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Roman Abramovic ready to sanction striker signing, Sancho blow

Here are your Chelsea transfer rumours for Monday, April 20.

Blues handed fresh Sancho blow

Manchester United have reportedly won the race to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, according to the Sun.

Chelsea are also interested in the 20-year-old – who has assisted 16 times and scored 14 goals for Dortmund this season – but it looks like their Premier League rivals have all but secured his signature.

The report suggests that discussions have taken place in regard to the length of his deal at Old Trafford, his salary, bonuses and a massive buyout clause, and they have all now been agreed.

However, United are yet to finalise a deal with his current club Dortmund, which is likely to be over £100m and a record-fee for a British club.

Chelsea to move for German forward

Chelsea are prepared to make a “shock move” for Freiburg forward Luca Waldschmidt, according to the Sun.

Frank Lampard is determined to bring in two new attackers to the Blues’ squad and is set to open talks for the 23-year-old German forward.

Waldschmidt has won two senior caps for Germany, whose nickname is “Il Bomber” – which compares him to West Germany legend Gerd Muller – known as “Der Bomber”.

The same report suggests that Freiburg are aware of the interest for Waldschmidt and may use Chelsea to spark a bidding war for the German.

Giroud agrees terms with Inter

Olivier Giroud has already agreed personal terms over a move to Inter Milan and is set to leave Chelsea when his contract is up at the end of the season.

According to a report in Italian publication Tuttosport, via the Daily Mail, Giroud tried to force a move to Inter from the Blues in January, but was instead kept by Chelsea.

However, with Tammy Abraham injuring his ankle in the second half of the season, the France striker has now become the Blues’ first-choice centre-forward.

Despite this, Tuttosport say that the 33-year-old has made his mind up on a move to Italy and to Inter Milan.

Michy Batshuayi is another striker whose future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain as Lampard has his first summer window at Chelsea.
