Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Pickford to replace Kepa, Sancho boost, Alaba update

Things are looking good for Chelsea at the moment, and they look set for a busy summer in the transfer market.

Thursday night’s win over Manchester City not only sent the Premier League title to Liverpool, but also strengthened the Blues’ grip on a top four place as they look to secure Champions League football for next season.

Frank Lampard already has two new signings on the way, with Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner set to arrive at Stamford Bridge very soon, and more new faces look likely to join them.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from Stamford Bridge.

Pickford to replace Kepa

Chelsea are reportedly looking at Jordan Pickford as a potential replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer.

The goalkeeper has been back in the Blues’ side after finding himself out of the team earlier in the season, although speculation over his future at Stamford Bridge continues.

And Everton’s Pickford has been touted as the man to replace the Spaniard next season should Frank Lampard look to dispense of Kepa’s services.

Tutto Mercato Web (via the Express) have said Chelsea are looking to sign the England number one, with Lampard growing tired his current keeper’s mixed performances.

Sancho boost

Jurgen Klopp appears to have ruled Liverpool out of the running to sign Jadon Sancho this summer, boosting Chelsea’s chances of landing the Borussia Dortmund star.

A number of clubs have been linked to the England international, with the Reds and the Blues, along with Manchester United and Bayern Munich, among those most heavily linked.

"A red jersey would look very good on Jadon Sancho,” Klopp told a live event with BILD. “But I don't think such a transfer will take place this summer.

“He is a very interesting player. If he moved to Liverpool, I would be the most surprised of all."

Alaba latest

Bayern Munich will look to revive their attempts to agree a new deal with David Alaba amid reports linking the defender with a move away.

Alaba’s current contract expires next summer, and Bayern have been unable to reach an agreement on a new contract so far.

Chelsea are one of a number of clubs to be linked with the Austria international, although the player is understood to favour a move to Spain rather than the Premier League.

But according to Mail Online, Bayern will look to tie down the defender to avoid the prospect of losing him for free.
