Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Olivier Giroud decision, N'Golo Kante swap rejected

Chelsea have been by far the biggest spenders in the Premier League this summer, with Frank Lampard leading the rejuvenation at the club.

Having been unable to sign new recruits 12 months ago, the Blues boss has wasted no time this year by landing a number of eye-catching recruits.

The arrivals of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz and Thiago Silva have led to increased optimism surrounding Stamford Bridge ahead of the new season.

Further deals could be on the cards though and we have gathered the latest snippets surrounding the club.

Kante swap deal rejected

Chelsea have rejected an offer from Inter Milan for midfielder N'Golo Kante which included Marcelo Brozovic as a makeweight, the Guardian states.

Former Blues boss Antonio Conte is keen to sign the French World Cup winner this summer but has found difficulties persuading Chelsea into a deal, as they have also made it clear they're not interested in former Tottenham man Christian Eriksen.

While Frank Lampard could be persuaded into a sale for the right price, Chelsea are looking for a cash-only deal as they look to fund more additions and they would prefer to offload Jorginho.

For Inter to make such an offer, they would have to raise funds by offloading members of their own squad and it remains to be seen whether more movement will be made.

Giroud to stay at Chelsea

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has agreed a provisional contract with Juventus as the Italian giants push to land a new striker.

The Turin outfit have lost Gonzalo Higuain, who is closing in on a move to MLS, and Giroud is a target for Andrea Pirlo's side along with Barcelona forward Luis Suarez.

33-year-old Giroud is said to have agreed a two-year deal in principle with Juventus but the Serie A champions could still move for alternative options.

However, alternative reports from The Athletic claim Giroud is very happy at Chelsea and is ready to stay and fight for his place in Frank Lampard's side.

They claim the French striker is not in contact with Juve over a deal.

West Brom eye Gallagher

Newly-promoted West Brom are pushing to sign Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher on loan from Chelsea, the Mail reports.

The England U21 international caught the eye in the Championship last season during loan spells with Charlton and Swansea, with a Premier League loan seen as the next step in his development.

West Brom have been keeping tabs on Gallagher for some time and are looking to make their move before the transfer window shuts next month.

However, they could face competition in the market as it has recently been suggested that Leeds United are also eyeing a deal.
