Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Moussa Dembele move back on, Blues want £20m defender

Chelsea’s top-four hopes suffered a set-back against London rivals Arsenal on Tuesday night.

That saw the Blues open the door for their top-four rivals to close the deficit in the hunt for Champions League football and there is plenty of work to be done in the coming months.

The January transfer window remains open for eight more days, giving Frank Lampard time to secure his first signing for the club - having been restricted by a transfer ban in the summer.

Plenty of names have been linked with a move to West London this month and we have gathered some of the latest snippets below.

Blues back in for Dembele

Chelsea have re-opened talks with Lyon over a deal to sign striker Moussa Dembele this month.

The Blues, according to The Sun, have re-opened negotiations in case they miss out on Edinson Cavani, with Frank Lampard telling the club to do everything possible to bring in a striker before the transfer window closes.

According to the report, Roman Abramovich would have to find upwards of £45million to convince Lyon to do business before the window closes.

Whizzkid wanted

Chelsea are interested in Grasshopper right-back Allan Arigoni but face competition from Barcelona, according to Sport Witness.

Both the Blues and Barcelona are ‘chasing’ the 21-year-old, who has made 19 appearances in all competitions this season.

The report also states that Barca legend José Mari Bakero recently travelled to Switzerland to watch Arigoni in person.

£20m for Atalanta ace

Frank Lampard is interested in signing Atalanta defender Robin Gosens during the January transfer window.

According to the Express, the Blues are plotting a £20million move for the 25-year-old, after Marcos Alonso was told he can leave the club this month.

The German has started 16 of Atalanta’s 20 Serie A matches this season, operating in a wing-back position.
