Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Mendy agrees terms, second Rice bid, Kante to Man United

Chelsea have less than a month to make further additions in the summer transfer window.

The Blues have signed no less than six first-team players in Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Hakim Ziyech and Malang Sarr, and they are not done there.

Frank Lampard keen to bring in another goalkeeper with Rennes stopper Edouard Mendy linked, and a defensive midfielder could also be on the shopping list with Declan Rice tipped for a move.

There also looks to be some outgoings, with the likes of Michy Batshuyai, Tiemoue Bakayoko all linked with moves away from west London.

With that said, here are the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.

Mendy 'agrees' terms

Edouard Mendy has agreed personal terms with Chelsea ahead of his £25m transfer move from Rennes, according to RMC Sport.

It's claimed that the goalkeeper will sign a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

And Rennes captain Damien Da Silva has already 'confirmed' the deal is likely to happen.

"We are a little selfish, we don’t want to lose Edouard Mendy," he told Telefoot. "But it’s part of football and the transfer market.

"He’s a great goalkeeper who deserves what happens to him."

Second Rice bid

After concluding a deal for Mendy, Chelsea are expected to turn their attentions to West Ham United's Declan Rice.

This is according to Sky Sports reporter Angelo Mangiante.

He has tweeted: "First of all, the new goalkeeper. But after completing the signing of Edouard Mendy, Declan Rice will be the last target for Chelsea.

"He is still in the list of Lampard to close a fantastic transfer window."

Interestingly, it's noted that Chelsea have already had a bid for Rice rejected, so are therefore planning to return with an improved offer.

Kante to Man United

Manchester United have joined the race for N'Golo Kante and could match the £54.5m asking price.

That's according to Tuttosport - via Sport Witness - who state that the Red Devils are rivalling Inter Milan to try and sign the France international this summer.

This comes after transfer expert Ian McGarry said the Blues are willing to let Kante leave.

"Chelsea are willing to let N’Golo Kante, a player who has been absolutely pivotal in a league-winning season for Chelsea, but they are willing to let him go," he said when speaking on the Transfer Window podcast, per The Express.

“Obviously, this comes with a bit of balancing the books because you don’t spend £230 million in one window without having to trim your squad."
