Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Manchester United join Ben Chilwell race, Kai Havertz update

Chelsea are set to face a big summer transfer window as Frank Lampard looks to bolster his squad to become serious title contenders.

Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech have both been added to the Blues squad for next season, but it appears Lampard wants to add more fresh faces to his squad.

Chelsea have enjoyed a solid first season under the tutelage of their former midfielder, and will be looking to bridge the gap to Liverpool and Manchester City in time for the next campaign.

With that being said, here are the best Chelsea-related transfer rumours from today.

United overtake Blues for Chilwell

Manchester United are now leading the race to sign Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell, according to the Sun.

The report states that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees Chilwell as an ideal addition to his squad as they look to challenge the title next season.

However, Chelsea hold a firm interest in the England defender, but have been quoted £60m for the 23-year-old.

Manchester City are also keen on Chilwell as they look to improve on French left-back Benjamin Mendy.

Spurs offer “lucrative contract” to Willian

Chelsea winger Willian is set to leave the club on a free transfer this summer, and London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are set to offer the Brazilian a “lucrative contract”, according to Football Insider.

Willian wants a three-year deal at the Blues, but according to reports, Lampard’s side will only offer him a two-year contract.

It now seems that Spurs are trying to lure him to north London, with Jose Mourinho making him one of his top targets this summer.

Spurs are willing to pay Willian £250,000-a-week for his services, as they look to add more firepower to their attacking line-up.

Havertz pursuit speeds up

Chelsea have stepped up their efforts to sign Bayer Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz after concerns over the development of Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to 90Min.

Hudson-Odoi signed a big-money deal at Stamford Bridge last year, but has started just seven times in the Premier League this season.

Havertz has been identified as one of the Blues’ top targets this summer, after a sensational campaign in the Bundesliga.

According to the report, Lampard has spoken to Hudson-Odoi over his concerns and the Blues will now step up their pursuit of Havertz.
