Chelsea’s hopes of Champions League qualification for next season hit a slight bump in the road on Wednesday night.
The Blues fell to a shock 3-2 defeat at West Ham, putting the brakes on their top four ambitions and opening the door once again to the chasing pack.
They of course still remain in a healthy position, and that could have a big effect on their business in the transfer window this summer, with more players expected to join following the additions of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from Stamford Bridge.
Havertz move being plotted
Chelsea are ready to step up their pursuit of Kai Havertz after his side’s German Cup final this weekend.
The Blues’ chances of landing Havertz this summer were boosted by Bayer Leverkusen missing out on Champions League qualification
And The Telegraph is now reporting that Chelsea are hopeful of securing a deal for Havertz this summer, although well below Leverkusen’s £90m asking price.
Kepa replacements eyed
Chelsea have been linked with moves for French goalkeepers Mike Maignan and Alphonse Areola as potential replacements for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The Express is reporting that both Maignan and Areola, have been identified as potential replacements for Arrizabalaga, who has struggled for form this season.
The Spaniard became the world's most expensive goalkeeper when he joined the Blues from Athletic Bilbao for £71million in 2018.
Bailey puts Premier League on alert
Leon Bailey could be set for a move to the Premier League this summer having attracted interest from Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Everton.
Sky Sports claim the 22-year-old wants to play in England and is working with Raheem Sterling's agents, Colossal Sports Management, to boost his chances of a deal.
Leverkusen were expected to demand up to £60m for Bailey this summer, but due to the effect on market prices caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, he could be available for less than half of that amount.
