Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: John Stones approach, Juventus swap deal, Jan Oblak bid urged

Chelsea have had an up and down campaign but can land a Champions League spot on Sunday and also have the FA Cup final to look forward to.

The Blues have already bolstered their side ahead of next season with the acquisitions of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, while Kai Havertz continues to be linked.

Whilst the coronavirus pandemic will likely mean clubs are less willing to spend cash, the short gap between the current campaign and next term will make for a condensed and far more interesting transfer period.

The rumour mill is already going into overdrive ahead of the transfer window opening on July 27 and here is the latest gossip on Chelsea.

Chelsea v Wolves: Frank Lampard press conference

Chelsea want Stones

Chelsea have conceded a remarkable 54 goals in the Premier League this season and the latest reports have them in the market for a centre-back.

Football Insider are now even claiming that the Blues have made an approach for Manchester City defender John Stones.

Stones has never truly settled in at the Etihad Stadium since moving from Everton in 2016 and Chelsea are looking to take advantage of the uncertainty surrounding the 26-year-old's future.

Ramsey offered to Chelsea

Chelsea have been offered former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey in a potential swap deal.

Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri is eager to sign Jorginho for the third time and Ramsey has been offered in a swap deal option.

That's according to Tutto Mercato Web, who also claim that Chelsea are open to selling the 28-year-old.

However, it's believed the offer was knocked back, with Chelsea only wanting straight up cash for Jorginho.

Carragher sends Chelsea transfer message

Jamie Carragher believes Chelsea should sign Jan Oblak this summer and sell Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Kepa has struggled under Frank Lampard, with the Chelsea boss even dropping the keeper in February.

The Blues have signed Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech ahead of the transfer window opening on July 27 and they are confident of landing Kai Havertz.

But Carragher insists that Oblak would help solve a key issue for the club at the moment.

“Lampard has to try and recoup what he can for Kepa Arrizabalaga, the world’s most expensive keeper who is not the required standard for a side of Chelsea's class,” he wrote in The Telegraph.

“Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak is the best available and would be a game-changer.

“Yes, meeting his £109 million buyout clause is mega expensive, but it looks like Chelsea have the funds.

“Oblak is the closest you will find to a no-brainer for any coach in need of a keeper, and given Petr Cech’s involvement in Chelsea’s technical department - and remembering the impact he had when becoming one of Jose Mourinho’s first recruits in 2004 - the club can be well advised on what a ready-made No 1 can do. That is their biggest priority."
