Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Havertz talks open, Spurs put off Zouma price, Werner finalised

It’s set to be a busy summer on and off the pitch for Chelsea, with the Premier League’s return now just a matter of days away.

The Blues are set to resume their season next weekend, when they’ll be looking to hold onto their spot in the top four as they aim to secure Champions League football for next season.

There could also be more business on the way as the summer transfer window opens, with Hakim Ziyech already on the way from Ajax, while Timo Werner looks set to join him.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from Stamford Bridge.

Deloitte predicts Premier League clubs will lose £1bn revenue this season

Blues and Leverkusen ‘miles apart’ over Havertz

Chelsea are reportedly negotiating with Bayer Leverkusen over a deal for Kai Havertz, but the two clubs are ‘miles apart’ in their stances.

Havertz is being linked with a move away from the Bundesliga this summer, with a number of Premier League sides said to be interested.

The German international is under contract at Leverkusen until 2022, but has indicated he is looking for a new challenge and is prepared to move abroad.

The Athletic though report that Chelsea are struggling to come to an agreement over the details of a potential transfer.

Werner talks at advanced stage

Chelsea are putting the final touches on their deal to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, according to the Telegraph.

The German striker is expected to complete a move to Stamford Bridge after the Blues stole a march on their rivals.

Werner had been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool for a long time, but Chelsea are understood to have triggered his £53million release clause.

And they are now in advanced talks over how the deal will be structured, with all parties confident the transfer will go through soon.

Spurs unwilling to meet Zouma valuation

Tottenham cannot afford to meet Chelsea’s £20million valuation of defender Kurt Zouma, according to the Mirror (via Spurs Web).

Jose Mourinho has reportedly been keen to reunite with the Frenchman, having brought him to Stamford Bridge back in 2014.

Reports suggest Chelsea have brought their asking price for Zouma down from £25million, but Spurs cannot afford to pay due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Everton are also said to be interested in securing another loan for the defender, following Zouma’s spell on Merseyside during the 2018/19 season.
