Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Havertz breakthrough, Coutinho prediction, Kepa update

Chelsea have already concluded deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, but continue to be linked with moves for the likes of Kai Havertz, Said Benrahma and Jan Oblak ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Qualification for Champions League significantly improves the chances of club director Marina Granovskaia concluding deals for their top targets, but there may be price issues to worry about.

In the last 24 hours alone, Chelsea have been told to sign Man City’s John Stones and could extend the contract of Willian by another few years.

With that in mind, here are the latest Chelsea transfer rumours doing the rounds.

Havertz breakthrough

Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia has reportedly reached a breakthrough with Bayer Leverkusen over Kai Havertz

German publication Sport Bild claim a breakthrough may have been made as both clubs are open to a deal which includes add ons.

The report suggests £70m can be paid up front - which was Chelsea's maximum limit and another £20m will then be paid in add-ons which is said to suit both parties.

Coutinho prediction

Rivaldo believes Philippe Coutinho should return to the Premier League this summer.

Coutinho’s agent confirmed yesterday that it is his client’s priority to return to the top-flight this summer.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs have all been linked with the former Liverpool star since the turn of the year, and Rivaldo believes Coutinho should return to the Premier League this summer.

He told Betfair:”Philippe Coutinho will soon return from his loan at Bayern to Barcelona, but I doubt he can revive his career there.

“His best option could be returning to English football where he spent the best seasons of his career and in which his qualities seem to be best suited, as he proved at Liverpool when was one of the best players in the Premier League.

“At Arsenal, Tottenham or Leicester, Coutinho could be a regular starter next season. It would be a good opportunity for the Brazilian to rediscover his best form and show that he continues to be an excellent player who belongs to the elite.”

Blues told what to do with Kepa

Valencia legendary goalkeeper Santiago Canizares has told Chelsea what they should do with the under-fire Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Canizares insists that Chelsea must keep Kepa and even build his confidence rather than sell him this summer amid exit rumours.

"Kepa is a great keeper but it appears that he has not won the confidence of Lampard, which is a problem for them both," he told Tribalfootball.

"It's difficult to find a better keeper in the market than Kepa and it is also difficult for Kepa to find another club like Chelsea.

"It's a disagreement that I do not understand because I believe that it is really convenient that both the club and the keeper work in the same direction and I hope that the problem will be solved soon.

"Yes, it would be a mistake for Chelsea to sell Kepa this summer. Given the current situation, this is not a summer of big transfers.

"They should be trying to give Kepa more confidence, not trying to sell him."
