Chelsea’s summer business was very impressive and certainly excited the majority of the club’s fan-base.
Frank Lampard’s side brought in seven new players at Stamford Bridge - spending over £200m on those signings.
However, in order to spend that much, the club will surely be looking to offload the unneeded players in the near future.
Here are the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.
Gilmour could move on loan
Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour could be set to leave the club on a loan deal in the January transfer window.
Gilmour broke into the Blues’ first-team last season and showed real maturity despite being only 19-years-old.
An agent said to The Athletic, per Not The Old Firm: “Younger lads that didn’t go on loan will force a move (in January).
“The Carabao Cup is out of the window for the next two months as the rounds have already been played. Fikayo Tomori and Billy Gilmour should go in January.”
Phillips backs Spurs to bid for Blues' defender
Former Premier League striker has backed Tottenham to once again bid for Antonio Rudiger in January.
The Chelsea defender was the subject of a bid from Spurs in the summer window, but the Blues didn’t want to let the German move to a direct rival.
Phillips told Football Insider: “They have made some fantastic signings this summer but I think Mourinho will dive into the market in January so the Rudiger deal could happen.”
Rudiger is yet to make a first-team appearance for Chelsea in the Premier League this season under Lampard.
Why Newcastle abandoned pursuit of Chelsea duo
Newcastle United were forced to abandon a move for Chelsea's Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley because four players didn’t leave the Magpies, according to The Chronicle.
Steve Bruce’s side registered an interest in both Loftus-Cheek, who signed for Fulham on loan, and Barkley, who eventually moved to Aston Villa on a temporary deal.
The north east side were hoping to offload Achraf Lazaar, Henri Saivet, Christian Atsu and Rolando Aarons in order to fund a move for one of the Blues’ duo.
However, Newcastle missed out on the chance to bring one of the midfield players to St. James’ Park this season.
